Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy

gentle technique designed to release fascial tensions

Craniosacral Therapy (CST), developed by John Upledger, is a gentle, hands-on technique designed to release fascial tensions within the nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord. These structures are bathed in cerebrospinal fluid and encased in the dural tube, making them integral to overall well-being.

At Center for Orofacial Myology, we incorporate CST alongside a variety of techniques to address each patient’s unique myofascial restrictions. With skilled and experienced hands, our practitioners use direct, hands-on therapy on the skin, complemented by adjunct techniques to enhance strength, body mechanics, and postural awareness.

Benefits of Craniosacral Therapy

  • Stress Relief: Reduces physical and emotional tension stored in the body.
  • Pain Management: Helps alleviate migraines, TMJ dysfunction, chronic back pain, and more.
  • Improved Mobility: Enhances flexibility, posture, and overall movement.

To ensure lasting results, we provide patients and caregivers with tailored education for home treatments, supporting carryover and maintenance between sessions. Our experienced team customizes CST sessions to meet individual needs, often integrating them with other therapies for a holistic approach to healing and wellness.
