Jessica Shotwell ( M.S., CCC-SLP)
Jess is an Idaho native and licensed speech-language pathologist. She received her graduate education at Idaho State University and has been a practicing SLP since 2022. Prior to moving to Boise in June of 2026, she ran her own speech and occupational therapy practice in Pocatello, Idaho. She loves working with her clients and their families and appreciates the opportunity to not only support them, but also to learn and grow with them!
In addition to orofacial myofunctional therapy, Jess also particularly loves treating speech sound disorders and early language disorders, as well as working with neurodivergent children and coaching caregivers. She is also one of only a few speech-language pathologists in the state of Idaho who has been trained in DIRFloortime, a developmental approach which prioritizes building connection, trust, and relationships in order to support growth and learning! Jess understands that each individual is unique and there is no single approach that works for everyone, so she begins each new client relationship by seeking to understand each individual’s strengths, differences, and motivations in order to most effectively support them in their therapy journey. One of her most important aims in therapy, especially when working with little ones, is to create a collaborative team environment with caregivers so that their speech/language/myo practice can expand beyond the therapy room and into real-life situations.
Outside of work, Jess enjoys reading, mountain biking, cruising the Greenbelt, paddleboarding, cross-country skiing, doing all sorts of arts and crafts, and taking her goofy dog to get pup cups! She is also very fond of sweet treats and enjoys baking (and eating) them.
