We took our baby in to have his tongue tie assessed and released and we were so happy with the entire experience. Katrina and Amylia were very knowledgeable and gave us the information we needed to make such a big decision for our baby. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing support and guidance for their own children. AJ Evans2024-07-17Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. For any of you that have been diagnosed with sleep apnea or if you are currently using a CPAP, please read this review. After completing an in-home sleep study In March 2023, I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea; an Apnea-hypopnea Index (AHI) of 35. Doctors recommended I use a CPAP. A friend referred me to the Center for Orofacial Myology wherein other treatments were recommended including myofunctional therapy, use of an oral appliance, and consulting with an ENT to determine if I had airway blockage. But first, I visited a local CPAP store to better understand their use, effectiveness and maintenance. When I left, I knew using a CPAP would be a last resort. I learned that CPAPs are uncomfortable to wear, tedious to maintain, and there is a risk of bacterial infection if not cleaned properly. I consulted with Rian and her team at the Center. The Center structured a plan that resulted in my sleep apnea index going from Severe to Normal within several months. For full disclosure, it was a challenging experience but a life safer. The process began with a CBCT scan which is an imaging tool similar to an MRI that checks for potential blockages in the septum and throat area. The scan showed I had a severe deviated septum. Next, I consulted with Shannon Gardiner, a ENT PA with Primary Healthy Care wherein a septoplasty and frenectomy or tongue release was recommended to improve my airway. Dr. Jacob Majors performed the surgery and in parallel with the surgery, I began myofunctional therapy with Joni Lofton at the Center. The program is designed to help you position your tongue to improve your ability to breathe, chew, and swallow. A second sleep study showed dramatic improvement. I went from Severe (AHI index of 35) to Moderate (AHI index of 19). To further improve my index, the Center referred me to Dr. Dan Bruce at Boise Integrative Dental and I was fitted with an oral appliance. A third sleep study confirmed my sleep apnea was Normal (AHI of 2). My quality of sleep has significantly improved, I feel more rested, and have more energy. I highly encourage people with sleep apnea to consult with the Center. A CPAP might be the right choice for you but there are effective options and the difference in cost between a CPAP and other treatments I received are not prohibitive and covered by most health insurance plans. Thanks again to everyone that helped me at the Center. Angela Voll2023-05-17Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I'd get multiple sinus infections/headaches each year. I've seen multiple ENT's, doctors (sleep & neurologists included), allergist, etc. It wasn't till I started working here that I was diagnosed with a tongue tie & nose issues. 6.5wks later, I can breathe better, and my sleep has improved greatly. My nose was deviated to one side, enlarged turbinates and a collapse on one side that needed surgery right away. I am going through Chatterton Myo program to learn the correct posturing of my tongue and swallowing propery with Annie. Both of these are making a huge difference in my life. My kids have made great improvement since coming here, especially my youngest who we could barely understand when we started a couple years ago. They were able to give us insight into underlying causes that other places had missed. Highly recommend. Love the front staff, they are always friendly and helpful.Load moreVerified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
