An ASHA approved course that gives SLPs in educational settings the knowledge, tools and resources needed to confidently identify and screen for orofacial myofunctional disorders.
An introductory course providing school-based SLPs with foundational knowledge of Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs) that will be useful and appropriate in the school setting. - Who is School-Based Myo for?
This course is great for both SLPs and SLPAs who work in educational settings. It is an introduction to orofacial myofunctional disorders and the role of the school-based SLP.
- How can I register a group?
Each student must register individually for the course in order to create their account that will be utilized to access course content. A detailed invoice will be provided that can be submitted to your school/district for reimbursement as appropriate.
- Can I earn ASHA CEUs for taking School-Based Myo?
Yes, you can earn .5 ASHA CEUs by completing all modules and course components by the last day of the month of enrollment.
- Is this course online?
Yes! SBM has 5 modules, 4 of which are pre-recorded and 1 live via Zoom call.
- How much time do I have to complete the course?
Each course is 4 weeks with the Live Q and A (module 5) being held Tuesday of the 4th week of each month.
- How frequently is the course held?
School-Based Myo is held monthly from January through October. You can select your month of enrollment upon registration.
